They may not be who you think they are.

Key takeaways from my Top Drawer masterclass on ‘What's in It For Me? - 3 Steps to Uncover Your Target Audience.’

🎤 Keep hydrated! I got so thirsty while I was up on stage. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

🎤 Take wide strides and be conscious of your steps. Do not fall!

🎤 Wear comfortable shoes. Not the cutest boots that you’ve been dying to wear that look great but hurt like hell!

🎤 Your main goal is to keep the organiser happy, happy, happy. Always ask what is the organiser’s main goal with the presentation. Listen to what they have to say and ask lots of questions in writing preferably if you’re not crystal clear on something. They are your client in this situation.

🎤 Be very strict with your timings and let the audience know too. Be respectful of everyone’s time.

🎤 Make eye contact with various points in the audience to connect with folks. We’re people talking to people.

🎤 Write your whole presentation out beforehand and time it. This was super helpful in organising my thoughts so I did not waffle on. Remember, respect the audience’s time.

🎤 Be clear to yourself and again in your presentation of the main action steps you’re presenting. People need to take something away from the presentation. Isn’t that the point?

🎤 Give real value! Ask the organiser for their feedback on this.

🎤 Make it easy for people to get in contact with you. I put my IG handle and website on each slide and a clear call-to-action at the end of the presentation.

🎤 Don’t forget to thank everyone - the audience, the organiser, and anyone who helped in the process.
